At YES, we believe that true sustainability happens when we come together—sharing resources, knowledge, and support—to build a healthier future for everyone. Our Partners & Community resources play a vital role in this mission, helping us expand our impact and bring meaningful change to the Yakima Valley and beyond.

Heritage gardens

The Heritage Garden Program is a free garden certification program dedicated to creating water-wise landscapes and gardens. The gardens incorporate native plants of Eastern Washington to honor the unique natural and cultural features of the Columbia River Basin.

We help people create thriving soils, naturally. We are a small, family owned company located in the Yakima Valley. More than anything, we want to see our community flourishing. We place an emphasis on working in the image of Mother Nature. Wherever possible, we will mimic natural systems to create thriving and resilient land. We use Holistic Management and have an emphasis on biology in all we do.

The program offers:

  • A visit to your garden.

  • Design for your future Heritage Garden space.

  • List of plants and their descriptions tailored to your garden space.

  • Technical assistance throughout the process

How we can help:

  • Hand crafted, living compost

  • Soil biological testing

  • Ecological health assessments

  • Consulting for farmers, ranchers and homeowners

  • Workshops on composting and soil health
