Y.E.S. Recycling Guide
Cardboard & Mixed Paper
Blue Bin
DO RECYCLE: Cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, newspaper, mail, egg cartons, scrap paper, packing paper, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, paper bags
DO NOT RECYCLE: Greasy pizza boxes, mail with plastic cards inside
CAREFULLY RECYCLE:
- Milk cartons: Any plastic lids/spouts must be removed and carton must be rinsed.
- Coffee cups: Must be rinsed.
- Shredded paper: Must be contained in a paper bag or a cardboard box.
Aluminum & Tin Cans
Yellow Bin
DO RECYCLE: Aluminum cans (even with plastic labels), aluminum rims and tin cans.
HOW: Tin food cans must have paper removed and rinsed of food residue. For example, olives do not need to be rinsed but tuna and tomato paste cans must be rinsed of residue.
DO NOT RECYCLE:

CAREFULLY RECYCLE:
- Foil: Must be clean.
- Foil pans: Must be clean.
Glass
Orange Crate
DO RECYCLE: Empty wine bottles, beer bottles, kombucha bottles, soda bottles, pickle jars, peanut butter jars, mason jars, other glass food containers and vases.
HOW: Must be rinsed of non-liquid residue. For example, no rinsing is required of wine bottles but peanut butter and jelly jars must be rinsed of residue.
DO NOT RECYCLE: Mirrors, windows, stemware, ceramic, porcelain, candle holders, picture frame glass
RECOMMENDATION:
Containers do not need to be rinsed and the labels do not need to be removed. However, to prevent attracting ants and other pests, we do recommend that bottles be rinsed and/or washed.
Why all the rules?
In order for recycling to be efficient, cost-effective and possible, the material we collect must as close to the raw material as we can get.
Unlike other models, the Y.E.S. model does not go through an expensive
(and sometimes ineffective) sorting facility.
By following the recycling guidelines, you save more material and yourself money.

Twice a Week pick-ups occur on Monday and Friday, regardless of area.
