REPAIR CAFE YAKIMA

Repair Café Yakima is a group of volunteers who donate their time and expertise each third Saturday to repair items, free of charge, that are brought in by area residents… from toasters and blenders, to jeans pockets, electronics, small furniture and bicycles.

RCY is one of about 4,000 repair/fix-it organizations around the world, whose purpose it is to keep as many of the brought-in items out of the landfill, while showing our visitors how to repair their possessions.

This mode of thinking not only saves money for our visitors, but introduces them to the idea of repairing, rather than throwing.
